Senior Application Security Engineer
Skills
- 5+ years application/product/security engineering experience
- Hands-on implementation of NIST 800-171/800-53, FedRAMP, or CMMC controls
- Production-quality coding ability in at least one language (Python, Rust, Elixir, C++)
- Cloud security experience (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable)
- Experience with SAST/SCA/DAST tooling and secure CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of authentication/authorization, cryptography, and Zero Trust
Responsibilities
- Design security architecture documentation and operational guides for government authorization
- Run vulnerability management with SLA-driven remediation (30/90/180 days by severity)
- Perform security code reviews for Elixir, Python, C++, and JavaScript
- Integrate and manage SAST, SCA, and DAST tooling (CodeQL, Semgrep, JFrog Xray, etc.)
- Collaborate with product engineering to remediate findings and embed secure coding practices
- Develop and deliver organization-wide security training for engineers and admins
- Create and maintain application security incident response playbooks
- Evaluate and integrate third-party security solutions to strengthen overall posture
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
- Advanced degree in a related field is a plus but not required
