Master Planner/Scheduler

Ulbrich Specialty Wire Products, located in Westminster, South Carolina, is equipped for rolling, drawing, annealing, straightening and precision winding of a variety of round, flat and square wire products. The Master Planner & Scheduler will be responsible for establishing and executing a Master Plan and a weekly production plan for product lines by converting demand (Forecast, Customer orders, & make-to-stock orders) into a feasible production plan.  This role is critical to ensure that production milestones and KPI’s are met.  This role contributes significantly to the overall success of the manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Train as a backup to the manager on key planning areas.
• Develop and maintain the planning and scheduling of production orders to ensure optimal use of resources while maintaining timely customer delivery.
• Monitor and report on production progress, operational efficiency, and variances to the planned production schedule.
• Work closely with departments such as production, sales, and inventory management.
• Address production issues, such as equipment downtime or material delays, and adjust schedules to maintain efficiency.
• Generate reports on production progress, machine loads, and scheduling performance for management review.
• Function as backup to other Schedulers when deemed necessary to keep the Material Group proactive.
• Follow all defined safety practices and procedures.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field is preferred with a minimum of 4 years of experience. APIC’s or ASCM exposure is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, solve problems, and perform basic math calculations.
• Good computer knowledge that includes Microsoft Office and other database software.
• Experience using ERP or Scheduling systems.
• Knowledge and experience in understanding Capacity Constraints, Finite and Infinite scheduling.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate with multiple departments and resolve conflicts.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple schedules, and adapt to changing production demands.
• Regular attendance at work is required.
