How we got here
Restoring trust in internet businesses
Vanta was founded in 2018, in the wake of several high-profile data breaches. Online security was only becoming more important, but we knew firsthand how hard it could be for fast-growing companies to invest the time and manpower it takes to build a solid security foundation. Vanta was inspired by a vision to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling companies to improve and prove their security.

From our early days automating security monitoring for compliance standards like SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 to creating the world's leading Trust Management Platform, our vision remains unchanged. Now more than ever, making security continuous—not just a point-in-time check— is essential. Thousands of companies rely on Vanta to build, maintain and demonstrate their trust— all in a way that's real-time and transparent.
Our Principles
Vanta’s mission is to secure the internet and protect consumer data. To do that, we’re building an enduring company where all Vanta’ns can do the best work of their careers, which requires us to articulate, and regularly revisit with honesty and clarity, how we work and how we make decisions - we call these our “Principles.”
We use these Principles every day in how we operate and build Vanta, and we also screen all of our hires for them . The Principles are the core tenets that guide how we work, how we hire, and how we interact with customers and partners.
As Vanta grows, we’ll update our thinking and revise these Principles, balancing “what got us here” with what’s likely to propel us further.
Christina Cacioppo is the CEO and co-founder of Vanta, a leading security and compliance platform backed by Sequoia Capital and Y Combinator. Previously, she led product management for Dropbox Paper. She is based in San Francisco and enjoys running and reading in her spare time.
