Job Description
The Broadcast and Live Events Producer is responsible for overseeing the production and coordination of various broadcasts and live events, ensuring their successful execution and seamless delivery to our audiences. The Broadcast and Live Events Producer will collaborate with various teams, including production crews, talent, technicians, and stakeholders, to ensure the highest level of quality and professionalism in all aspects of the production process.
The Live Events Producer is an execution‑first, on‑site event leader whose core responsibility is run‑of‑show ownership and backstage execution. You will be responsible for owning the full end‑to‑end production lifecycle of WGU’s live events—from creative concept development through on‑site execution and post‑event analysis. This role serves as the operational and creative backbone of each event, with direct accountability for developing and managing detailed run‑of‑show documents that drive flawless execution. Acting as the on‑site production lead, the producer partners closely with senior leaders, content, communications, and technical teams to translate strategy into tightly orchestrated live experiences, providing backstage leadership, show calling, and real‑time decision‑making to ensure every event is delivered with precision, consistency, and impact.
· Flawless Live Execution and Manage the full end-to-end production lifecycle — from creative concepts to onsite execution and post-event analysis.
· Develop scalable production playbooks, standards, and models to ensure quality and consistency across all event formats.
· Partner with stakeholders and technical experts to design creative stage design, and production strategies aligned with WGU’s goals.
· Work with Senior event manager to oversee all technical production elements — staging, lighting, sound and streaming — to deliver world-class experiences.
· Collaborate with Communications, and academic departments to align messaging, scheduling, and objectives.
· Works closely with the Content manager to integrate messaging, visuals, and timing seamlessly into the show flow.
· Collaborate with creative teams to produce motion graphics, videos and other show assets.
· Manage backstage operations on live events
· Serve as liaison between WGU clients and production teams to coordinate content, scheduling, and logistics.
· Develop and manage production schedules, run-of-show documents, and timelines for seamless execution.
· Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping how WGU communicates through live and digital experiences.
· Coordinate entertainment bookings and ensure all associated production needs are met.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
· Strong understanding of live event production, and audience engagement principles.
· Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent events and deadlines.
· Backstage manager and Show Calling experience.
· Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, internal departments, and external vendors.
· Deep knowledge of production workflows, equipment, and live event tools.
· Proficiency with event and production management software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Run of Show or similar).
· Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain composure under pressure during live events.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, professional event experiences.
· Familiarity with virtual and hybrid event platforms and current trends in live content production.

Portfolio or Work Samples of live events they have produced. This may include run‑of‑show documents, production schedules, event case studies, photos, or written summaries describing their role in on‑site execution, backstage management, and show calling.
Live event documentation or descriptions are preferred over edited video or broadcast‑only samples.
