Skills
- 10+ years in system-level power and performance engineering, focused on SoC architectures.
- Deep understanding of CPU, GPU, DSP, and memory subsystems and their interactions.
- Expertise in SoC performance tuning, optimization techniques, and power management strategies.
- Proficiency with system profiling tools and methodologies, especially on Android and Qualcomm platforms.
- Strong lower-level software skills including kernel and driver analysis and OS concepts.
- Ability to bridge hardware and software engineering concerns and work independently on complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Lead evaluation and selection of next-generation silicon architectures with IHVs, providing technical feedback on silicon designs.
- Partner with platform software engineers to optimize system-level power, performance, and latency across the product stack.
- Analyze and optimize battery life and thermal-design-power tradeoffs for comfortable, long-lasting wearable operation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system power efficiency and performance from concept through deployment.
- Perform deep-dive root-cause analysis for complex system performance and power issues and prioritize remediation.
- Develop and implement profiling methodologies to identify bottlenecks at multiple system levels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, software, product, and other engineering teams to integrate solutions.
- Define architectural requirements and translate product vision into technical specifications and execution plans.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Or equivalent practical experience in system-level engineering.
