International Payroll Lead

Angi is a large home-services platform connecting homeowners with skilled pros and supporting thousands of projects annually. We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented International Payroll Lead to own end-to-end payroll operations across five European countries, ensure compliance with local regulations and SOX controls, partner with external providers, and collaborate closely with Accounting and People Operations.

Skills

  • 4+ years managing multi-country payroll operations across European jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of local European labor law and statutory payroll requirements
  • Experience with payroll implications of equity awards (taxation, withholding, reporting)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions)
  • Proven experience working with international HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., Personio, Immedis, ADP, SAP)
  • Excellent communication, customer-service orientation, and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work autonomously

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, France and Austria, ensuring on-time and accurate runs
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal governance/SOX controls
  • Partner with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and streamline operations
  • Serve as primary payroll contact for employees, vendors, and internal teams, providing clear and timely communication
  • Maintain and improve payroll systems, processes, controls, and documentation
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and support month-end payroll journal entries
  • Support audits, implement recommendations, and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with HR on employee lifecycle events (onboarding, promotions, terminations)
  • Support U.S. payroll team on an as-needed basis

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Payroll certification (e.g., CPP) or related professional credential is a plus
