Skills
- Payroll accounting and reconciliations
- Experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP)
- Experience with BlackLine (or similar reconciliation tool)
- General ledger accounting and journal entries
- US payroll compliance (federal and state)
- Canadian payroll processing and compliance (preferred)
- Advanced Excel for data manipulation and reporting
- Strong verbal and written communication
- High attention to detail and ownership
Responsibilities
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and post them in NetSuite
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine and resolve variances within 30 days
- Reconcile and record payroll-related cash transactions
- Prepare monthly payroll accruals and payroll expense load files for the GL team
- Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring statutory compliance
- Reconcile benefits billing statements to payroll records and resolve discrepancies
- Support year-end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and internal audit requests
- Respond to cross-functional payroll and accounting requests in a timely manner
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Relevant payroll/accounting experience required if degree not held
- CPA or CPP designation is a plus
