Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and software revenue accounting principles
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP revenue/finance modules
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (modeling, pivot tables, formulas)
- Experience supporting external audits and SEC reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional interactions
- Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills
Responsibilities
- Review fully executed customer contracts and conclude on appropriate revenue accounting treatment under ASC 606.
- Review and approve revenue allocations and revenue plans in NetSuite to ensure accurate recognition in the general ledger.
- Provide revenue accounting guidance on draft contracts to Legal and Sales teams.
- Prepare supporting documentation including revenue checklists, position papers, and allocation spreadsheets for booked orders.
- Assist manager with technical research on complex revenue accounting issues and SSP (fair value) analyses.
- Support external audits and quarterly reviews by providing requested documentation for revenue transactions.
- Assist with preparation of SEC filings and respond to auditor inquiries as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA certification (required); MS in Accounting preferred
