Technical Lead, Mining Autonomy Platform
Skills
- 7+ years in embedded systems, robotics, or autonomous vehicle software development
- Proven technical leadership or tech lead experience on complex systems projects
- Hands-on experience with robotics actuation and control interfaces (CAN, drive-by-wire)
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded and real-time systems
- Experience building or owning health monitoring, telemetry, diagnostics, or deployment systems for production embedded platforms
- Experience with hardware bring-up and field validation of vehicle platforms
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and mentor engineers on the Autonomy Platform team; define architecture and execution priorities
- Partner with product and partner teams to define roadmap and translate customer/field requirements into engineering plans
- Design and implement low-level autonomy-to-vehicle control layer including drive-by-wire integration and system identification
- Build and maintain production software platform components: health monitoring, diagnostics, telemetry pipelines, networking, and OTA deployment
- Lead 0→1 vehicle bring-up efforts from hardware integration through software validation and field testing
- Define and enforce engineering standards for reliability, safety, and scalability as fleet size increases
- Coordinate integration of shared middleware, sensor drivers, and deployment frameworks into mining-specific applications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required
- Master's degree in a related engineering discipline preferred
