About the Role
Clover Sonoma is seeking a strategic and results-driven Manager, Packaging & Indirect Sourcing to drive sourcing initiatives across packaging and indirect spend categories. This role is responsible for developing and executing category strategies, optimizing supplier performance, and delivering cost, quality, and sustainability outcomes that support Clover’s operational and brand priorities.
As a key individual contributor, you will partner cross-functionally with operations, R&D, marketing, finance, and sustainability teams to ensure supply continuity, enable innovation, and create enterprise value. You will also play a critical role in advancing Clover Sonoma’s commitment to sustainable packaging and responsible sourcing.
A Day in the Life
Lead sourcing strategy and execution for packaging and indirect categories, aligning with business goals and long-term growth plans
Own supplier relationship management, including performance evaluation, business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
Drive strategic sourcing events (RFPs/RFQs), negotiations, and contract management to achieve optimal cost, service, and quality outcomes
Identify and implement cost savings, value engineering, and process improvement opportunities across categories
Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product development, packaging innovation, and commercialization efforts
Monitor market trends, commodity movements, and supplier risks to proactively manage supply continuity and pricing strategies
Develop and maintain category strategies, supplier roadmaps, and risk mitigation plans
Lead supplier selection, onboarding, and consolidation initiatives to build a high-performing and resilient supply base
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards
Mentor and support junior team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Role Requirements
Own end-to-end sourcing lifecycle for packaging and indirect spend categories
Establish and track KPIs for supplier performance, cost savings, and service levels
Drive cross-functional alignment to support sourcing decisions and operational priorities
Provide data-driven insights and reporting to inform leadership decision-making
Support sustainability initiatives, including packaging innovation and waste reduction efforts
Manage contracts, pricing structures, and supplier agreements to mitigate risk and maximize value
What You Bring to the Team
Experience
5+ years of progressive experience in sourcing and procurement
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
Experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or packaging sourcing strongly preferred
Proven track record of leading sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations
Skills
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate insights into actionable sourcing plans
Advanced negotiation and supplier management capabilities
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP S4/Hana or similar) and advanced Excel/data analysis
Strong financial acumen and understanding of cost drivers within packaging and indirect categories
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making
Preferred
Experience with sustainable packaging initiatives or ESG-focused sourcing
Exposure to commodity markets and cost modeling
Professional certifications (CPSM, CIPS, APICS)
