Skills
- Deep AWS architecture experience (EKS, S3, RDS, API Gateway, DynamoDB/DocumentDB).
- Expert Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices at scale.
- Enterprise-grade Kubernetes (EKS) architecture and microservices platform experience.
- CI/CD design and implementation (e.g., GitHub Actions) to improve deployment velocity and safety.
- Advanced networking and security knowledge (VPC, service mesh, service discovery, security groups).
- Observability tooling and frameworks (metrics, logs, traces; Datadog preferred).
- Production-grade software engineering skills in Java, Python, or TypeScript for tooling and automation.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive long-term technical strategy for scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure at organizational level.
- Act as the top technical authority for the infrastructure platform and steer cross-functional alignment.
- Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for major infrastructure technologies and own tradeoffs.
- Design, build, and operate IaC-driven infrastructure (Terraform) and reusable modules/governance.
- Establish and evangelize SRE culture: define SLOs/SLIs, lead reliability initiatives, and run major incident responses.
- Own improvements to developer experience: self-service platforms, CI/CD architecture, and deployment tooling.
- Lead hyper-automation efforts to reduce operational toil and enable self-healing systems.
- Drive observability strategy (metrics, logs, traces) and implement organization-wide monitoring and alerting.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (optional but valued).
