Tax Software Engineer II
Skills
- Proven experience with .NET platform and C# development
- Familiarity with ASP.NET, MVC, Classic ASP, and VBScript
- Experience with Entity Framework and WPF
- Frontend fundamentals: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience with IIS, XML/XSLT, MSMQ, and NServiceBus
- Source control and CI/CD familiarity (Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git preferred)
- Understanding of Agile/Lean SDLC practices
- Ability to diagnose, debug, and remediate security and performance issues
- Strong written and verbal communication for cross-team collaboration
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and document maintainable tax software using Pathward’s technical stack.
- Troubleshoot, remediate security vulnerabilities, and improve system performance for existing systems.
- Participate in sprint planning and user story analysis; provide technical feedback and estimates.
- Implement technical solutions based on solid design principles and best practices.
- Follow and actively participate in software development processes and standards.
- Document code changes, best practices, and system behavior.
- Stay current with changes in tools, technologies, and industry standards through training.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent education and work experience required
- Relevant certifications or ongoing professional development preferred
