FinOps Specialist

We are looking for a Cloud FinOps Specialist to join our CSM team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Marketing—partnering closely with customers, translating real-world cloud cost challenges into actionable product insights, and helping shape our FinOps strategy. You will also represent PointFive as a trusted voice in the FinOps community, driving thought leadership and customer impact.

Job requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise experience in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or cloud financial management

    • Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake and Databricks cost models, billing / usage data, and architecture-driven optimization.

    • Experience identifying and remediating cloud inefficiencies beyond the obvious.

  • Background in engineering, cloud architecture, or DevOps, with fluency in both technical and financial discussions.

  • Strong presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills.

    • Experience with public speaking at industry conferences is a plus.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams.

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional, AWS, Azure, and/or GCP Certified Solutions Architect Associate (preferred).

  • Active involvement in the FinOps Foundation community and a strong network in the FinOps/Cloud ecosystem.

  • Strong expertise in building custom dashboards and reports using BI tools (Apache Superset, PowerBI, Quicksight, Looker, Tableau, etc)

  • Ability to operate in a startup environment — adaptable, self-directed, and resourceful.

Job responsibilities

Customer Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers on their FinOps journey, helping them operationalize efficiency and cost optimization best practices.

  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to mature customers’ FinOps practices, aligning financial, operational, and engineering goals.

  • Define requirements for, and build custom dashboards with tight turnaround times.

Sales Enablement

  • Partner with Account Executives and Solutions Engineers to accelerate enterprise deals through FinOps expertise and credible technical insight.

  • Support POCs and customer evaluations, building confidence and trusted relationships with prospects.

Product & Strategy Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer and field insights into actionable roadmap direction.

  • Identify trends and emerging needs across customers to inform product innovation and service development

Evangelism & Community

  • Represent PointFive and the Cloud Efficiency Hub at FinOps community events (e.g., FinOps X, AWS Summits, and FinOps Meetups).

  • Lead community initiatives under the Cloud Efficiency Hub brand—creating content, fostering collaboration, and driving engagement through events, workshops, webinars, and/or hackathons.

  • Contribute to blogs, white papers, and talks that position PointFive as a thought leader in the FinOps ecosystem.

Service Innovation

  • Help shape future FinOps service offerings—defining, managing, and delivering solutions that bring measurable value to enterprise customers.
