Engineering Intern

Progyny is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our technology team and contribute to building scalable, high-impact healthcare solutions. This role offers hands-on experience working with modern technologies across backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with experienced engineers on real-world projects.

Progyny’s internship program begins June 2nd, 2026, and culminates in a presentation to senior leadership.

What you’ll do…

• Design, develop, and maintain features across web and mobile applications using React

• Build and optimize backend services and scripts using Python and/or TypeScript

• Work with cloud infrastructure and services in AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, EC2, or similar)

• Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable deployments

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Data to deliver user-focused solutions

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software

• Use Git for version control and collaborate effectively within a team-based development workflow

• Analyze system performance and propose improvements for scalability and reliability

• Present project updates, findings, and demos to engineering leadership and stakeholders

• Contribute innovative ideas to solve complex technical and user experience challenges

About you…

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React (coursework or projects acceptable)

• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms

• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and modern software development practices

• Experience using Git for version control

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Eagerness to learn new technologies and take on challenging technical problems

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the hourly salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $25.00/hour - $50.00/hour. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
