About QuoteWell

Headquartered in Austin, TX, QuoteWell is a wholesale insurance brokerage powered by purpose-built, AI technology. We bring the fast-paced, forward-thinking culture of a tech company and pair it with the long-term stability the insurance industry provides. We’re growing with intention, building a team of experienced professionals who are ready to own their function and help drive our next chapter of growth.

The Opportunity

We're bringing our accounting function fully in-house. You'll inherit a clean set of books from our fractional accountant and take complete ownership from day one. You’ll be the operational backbone of our finance department—keeping the engine running while building the foundation for our first formal audit.

You’ll work closely with a fractional CFO and FP&A analyst, which gives you experienced partners on the strategic and planning side while you lead. What we need from you is someone with the technical credibility to navigate an audit and the builder mindset to truly own the accounting infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards relevant to our revenue streams

• Monitor and report on venture debt covenants

Audit Preparation & Leadership

• Serve as the primary internal point of contact for our first financial audit (targeted Q4 of this year)

• Select and manage the external audit firm relationship

• Prepare audit-ready workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation

• Identify and remediate any gaps in documentation, controls, or accounting treatment ahead of fieldwork

• Coordinate with legal and the fractional CFO on any technical accounting questions

Team & Cross-Functional Partnership

• Serve as the financial operations partner to department heads on budget-to-actual questions

• Coordinate with the fractional FP&A analyst on forecast inputs and actuals variance analysis

• Support the fractional CFO on financing events, board materials, and strategic planning
