Skills
- Hands-on experience with modern analytics stack (dbt, BigQuery or Snowflake, Looker/LookML)
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills
- Experience implementing analytics engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, documentation, git)
- Proven people management and mentorship experience for analytics engineers
- Ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and self-service analytics strategies
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Familiarity with ETL tools and event analytics (Fivetran, Amplitude) a plus
Responsibilities
- Own quarterly analytics engineering roadmaps that balance business impact with sustainable delivery and tooling improvements.
- Lead and manage a team of 4–6 analytics engineers, setting standards, career ladders, and supporting individual growth.
- Drive technical standards and development practices (version control, testing, documentation, CI/CD) across analytics projects.
- Contribute hands-on to dbt and LookML codebases and review peer work to ensure data accuracy and maintainability.
- Establish data quality processes and review gates that balance iterative delivery with reliability.
- Partner with product, engineering, and leadership to scope measurable questions and ensure analytics informs strategy.
- Measure and be accountable for team commitments, pivoting priorities when necessary to maximize impact.
- Address performance issues, hire and develop talent, and create autonomous cross-functional analytics workflows.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
