Software Engineer II, FedRamp (Remote Eligible)
Skills
- US Person status for federal compliance
- 3+ years in IT security with hands-on technical experience as a system architect or security engineer
- 2+ years supporting FedRAMP programs (continuous monitoring, package review, significant change)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Java, Bash) and willingness to learn others
- Working knowledge of cloud concepts, AWS preferred, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS), and security tool integration
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture interviews and document FedRAMP-related control considerations for stakeholder architectures
- Develop architecture briefings and materials for FedRAMP program managers and internal review
- Support continuous monitoring activities, including package reviews, scoping significant changes, and reviewing risk acceptance
- Interpret FedRAMP and agency requirements and provide implementation guidance to internal teams
- Design and maintain secure multi-cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Automate security workflows, threat detection, and vulnerability management using code (Python, Go, Bash)
- Integrate security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA) into CI/CD pipelines to provide developer feedback
- Support container platform operations and security (Kubernetes/EKS) and manage self-hosted GitLab Runners
- Participate in code reviews, post-mortems, and cross-team technical discussions to improve operational security
Education
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- US Person status (U.S. Citizen or U.S. National) required for federal compliance
