Responsibilities
- Design and analyze solar array components from cells to integrated electro-mechanical assemblies
- Own mechanical systems and tooling for solar array sub-assemblies
- Prepare technical design review content and detailed engineering drawings/specifications
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to justify design capability
- Write and execute electrical and mechanical test procedures and verification plans
- Design and conduct process qualifications using DOE and statistical process control
- Collaborate cross-functionally with GNC, Avionics, Payloads, Operations, Materials, and Supply Chain
- Drive DFM changes to meet factory rates, yield, uptime, and cost targets
- Review on-orbit performance and respond with manufacturing/design solutions
- Work hands-on in the factory environment and support production ramp
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related)
- Internships/co-op experience accepted toward experience requirement
