Skills
- Proficiency in C#, Java, or similar compiled languages
- Experience designing and optimizing large-scale distributed systems for high-volume data
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments
- Working knowledge of Linux, version control, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring systems
- Full-stack software engineering experience across backend and service layers
- Familiarity with data ingestion, storage, and query systems at petabyte scale
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and mission teams
- Authorization to work on ITAR-restricted projects (U.S. citizen/permanent resident/asylee/refugee) or eligible for required authorizations
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate a highly reliable distributed telemetry platform for ingestion, processing, storage, and querying of high-volume data
- Collaborate with engineers across teams on architecture, design, and code reviews
- Partner with satellite and rocket teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions
- Take full end-to-end ownership of software and hardware stack components
- Investigate and resolve production issues; optimize performance and cost at scale
- Drive first-principles technical solutions and deep dives into complex business problems
- Participate in on-call rotations and work extended hours/weekends when required
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or related scientific discipline
- OR 7+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree
