Brand and Social Marketer Intern

About us: Maxima is the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting, purpose-built to deliver SOX-compliant, real-time close. Our founders have experience coming from both sides of the problem: from overseeing the finance org at Rubrik, to building month-end close systems at companies like Twitter and Netflix.

We recently raised $41M in seed + Series A funding from top-tier investors like Redpoint Ventures and Kleiner Perkins, and are backed by finance leaders at companies such as Rippling, OpenAI, and Ramp.

The role: We are hiring a Brand and Social Marketing Intern to help build Maxima's presence across social channels and turn what's happening inside a fast-moving AI startup into content people actually want to read and share. This is a high-ownership, creative-first role for someone who thinks in systems, has sharp editorial instincts, and understands what makes B2B content break through.

You will work directly with marketing, sales, founders, and customers to shape how the market understands Maxima — from product launches and customer wins to thought leadership and everyday company moments. This is not a scheduling or community management role. We are looking for someone with genuine taste and the instincts to build an audience of our target customers from the ground up.

What you'll do:

  • Own Maxima's social presence across LinkedIn and beyond, creating and shipping high-quality content with strong POV and consistency

  • Identify compelling stories across the Maxima ecosystem — customer wins, product moments, team stories, and industry trends — and turn them into content worth sharing

  • Partner with the marketing team to build repeatable content systems: editorial calendars, post formats, and production workflows

  • Help uplift Maxima team members as creators, supporting founders and leaders in developing their thought leadership presence

  • Stay on top of what's happening in AI, fintech, and accounting — and find smart, credible ways to insert Maxima into the conversation

  • Track performance, learn from the data, and bring informed ideas to the table

  • Support broader campaign moments including webinars, events, and product launches

About you:

  • Current or recently graduated undergrad student

  • You have sharp editorial instincts and genuine taste — you know the difference between content that is good and content that is just finished

  • You understand LinkedIn deeply: what performs, why it performs, and how to earn reach organically

  • You think in systems and narratives, not one-off posts

  • You are a strong writer who can adapt tone and voice across formats and audiences

  • You are comfortable operating with autonomy and ambiguity

  • You are based in or able to commute to our San Mateo office. Ability to travel domestically to events and conferences as needed.

Must-haves:

  • A demonstrated instinct for content and storytelling — a portfolio, personal account, writing samples, or body of work that shows your thinking and taste

  • Clear understanding of how social algorithms work and how content earns reach organically

  • Ability to synthesize a brand voice quickly and apply it consistently

Nice to have:

  • Experience with video content creation or editing

  • Familiarity with B2B marketing, SaaS, fintech, or startup environments

  • Experience running a personal content channel or account with a real audience
