Job Overview
The Director of Athletics Nutrition will serve as an integral member of the Department’s interdisciplinary health care team and will work directly with Student-Athlete Health and Welfare personnel, coaches, Athletic Counseling and mental health personnel, and other exercise science and allied health personnel to deliver high-level comprehensive, practical, and evidence-based performance nutrition and lifetime wellness services for Georgetown University student-athletes.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist the Head Team Physician and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Health and Wellness with all nutrition related tasks for which he/she is responsible.
Serve as the primary performance nutrition contact and liaison between members of the coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, physicians, members of the Student-Athlete Health & Wellness Team, other allied health personnel, and sport administration.
Provide a high level of customer service and communication at all times to all entities.
Clinical application and administration of high-level comprehensive performance nutrition, recovery program and lifetime wellness services for student-athletes as assigned
Develop and administer comprehensive, sports-specific performance nutrition counseling and education for student-athletes, inclusive of individual, small group, and team education, coaching staff education, and professional development of Student-Athlete Health and Wellness, Athletics Counseling, and other allied health personnel
Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary disordered eating task force
Perform body composition assessments, results interpretation, and education for student-athletes.
Assist with the coordination of Athletics Dining initiatives, including the management and development of sports specific performance menus, pre and post-activity fueling design, Athletics Dining facility coordination and management, me planning and serving as a liaison to the Athletics Dining / outside vendors and Campus Dining representatives
Consult with team coaches and directors of operations to coordinate menu design and sports-specific performance fueling for teams before, during, and after competitions and during travel
Collaborate with Student-Athlete Health and Wellness personnel and coaching personnel to develop protocols to monitor and enhance rest, recovery, and regeneration; hydration; and athlete readiness.
Research, evaluate, educate, and recommend appropriate performance supplementation for student-athletes.
Participation in Performance Team meetings and other committees, groups, special projects, and/or other initiatives as assigned.
Provide care based on standard Commission on Dietetic Registration guidelines as directed by a physician, and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Provide written and/or verbal reports to fellow Student-Athlete Health and Wellness personnel, physicians, coaching personnel, and other pertinent individuals as needed and/or requested.
Assist with developing and reviewing the annual budget and ensuring budgetary compliance through efficient financial management.
Maintain the organization, administration, inventory, and staffing of performance nutrition facilities.
Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by the NCAA, Big East Conference, Georgetown University and Georgetown University Department of Athletics.
Work Interactions
This position will have a wide range of clinical and administrative daily responsibilities to include individual and group/team nutrition counseling and education; documentation and analysis of performance nutrition outcomes and metrics; rest, recovery, and regeneration, program development and implementation; testing and evaluation; data entry, interpretation, and report generation; daily interaction, communication, and relationship building with Student-Athlete Health and Wellness personnel, coaching personnel, exercise science personnel, athletic administration, and other members of the campus community; assisting with various administrative duties; and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in clinical nutrition, dietetics, food systems management, foods and nutrition, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
3-5 years of related experience required
Licensure as a Licensed Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian or similar certification is required

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
