- Proven experience building high-volume, high-throughput backend systems
- Strong architecture and system design for maintainability, performance, and scalability
- Proficiency with Rails, Python, and PostgreSQL (or similar stacks)
- Experience integrating predictive/ML models and working with LLMs or unstructured data parsing
- Knowledge of service-oriented architectures and supply chain/fulfillment optimization concepts
- Excellent debugging, monitoring, and production-incident mitigation skills
- Ability to mentor peers and influence engineering standards
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend and full-stack services that manage prescription intake through fulfillment
- Increase automation of intake using modern techniques including LLMs and structured parsing of unstructured prescription data
- Integrate clinical safety checks, controlled substance history, and risk scoring into pre-dispense workflows
- Optimize drug selection and pricing logic to deliver best-value options for patients
- Architect and evolve an extensible inventory management platform balancing low inventory with high availability
- Mentor engineers, drive best practices in code quality, testing, code review, and incident response
- Collaborate with product, clinical, and operations teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Equivalent practical experience accepted in lieu of formal degree
