Senior Director, Technical Programs

Affirm is a public fintech company reinventing credit to be transparent and consumer-friendly. The Senior Director, Technical Programs will lead and scale the Technical Program Management (TPM) function to drive company and technology-wide planning, OKRs, cross-functional program delivery, and operational maturity across Product, Engineering, InfoSec, and Analytics. This leader will design scalable processes, influence senior stakeholders, and develop high-performing TPM teams to improve delivery visibility, resource optimization, and organizational outcomes.

Skills

  • Proven experience defining and scaling TPM organizations and processes
  • Deep technical understanding of software development lifecycles and architecture
  • Demonstrated success driving org-wide planning, OKRs, and cross-functional alignment
  • Strong data orientation with experience using metrics to drive decisions
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Experience with change management and implementing process adoption at scale
  • Track record building and developing high-performing teams

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and continuously improve company- and org-wide planning processes and OKR cadence
  • Lead multiple TPM teams and hire, develop, and retain top technical program talent
  • Partner with senior leadership across Product, Engineering, Information Security, Analytics, Finance, Revenue, and Legal to ensure alignment
  • Drive adoption of process and tooling changes, including change management and cultural adoption
  • Provide strategic consultation and coaching to department leaders on program structure, prioritization, and operational trade-offs
  • Improve visibility into portfolio goals, progress, trade-offs, and release/execution lifecycles
  • Design and implement scalable frameworks for program delivery, tracking, and continuous improvement
  • Use data and analytics to inform prioritization, resource allocation, and performance measurement
  • Resolve cross-functional program blockers and influence decisions at the executive level
  • Champion simplification and sustainable operability improvements across complex systems

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA) is a plus but not required
  • Relevant professional certifications in program or product management are a plus
