Skills
- Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and STK
- Experience modeling and simulating spacecraft sensors, actuators, dynamics, and GNC algorithms
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML/UML) and requirements/architecture processes
- Experience with software development, verification, and validation practices
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming (C, C++) and scripting (Python, TCL)
- Ability to perform requirement flow-down and design for manufacturability/test/cost
- Strong systems-thinking and cross-disciplinary coordination skills
- US Citizenship (required) and ability to obtain government security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design and implement GNC architectures for new spacecraft and payload integrations
- Model, simulate, and analyze GNC sensors, actuators, dynamics, algorithms, and flight software
- Develop and document subsystem-level requirements and perform requirement flow-down
- Support GNC electronics and algorithm development and verification activities
- Promote reuse of heritage products and identify needed modifications for new missions
- Drive multiple design activities across programs (spacecraft, payload, bus, launch integration)
- Participate in cross-functional planning, integration, and trade studies
- Support simulation development and spacecraft product roadmap activities
- Define spacecraft customization processes to meet customer mission needs
- Perform ongoing system engineering to build, maintain, and evolve spacecraft products
Education
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (required)
- Master's degree in STEM (preferred)
