About AIUC

Agents are being deployed into hospitals, banks, and governments today. Soon there will be more agent-to-agent interactions than human-to-human interactions. The world needs a gold standard for AI safety, security, and reliability. That standard is AIUC-1, and building it is our mission.

Our mission is to underwrite superintelligence. We evaluate, certify, and insure AI agents, giving high-growth AI companies the credibility to earn their customers' trust. Over time, we will do the same for foundation models and data centers.

Our team comes from Anthropic, McKinsey, METR, Weights & Biases, Perplexity, and the Thiel Fellowship. We have raised $15M led by Nat Friedman, Emergence, and Terrain, with backing from Anthropic co-founder Ben Mann and ex-CISOs at Google Cloud and MongoDB.

The role

You will figure out how to evaluate entirely new categories of AI systems and build the infrastructure to make it repeatable. Your work will define our relationships with some of the largest AI companies in the world.

From day one you will:

• Own customer implementations end-to-end: from discovery and technical scoping through evaluation, tooling, deployment, and certification.

• Build world-class AI evals: set the standard for robustness and rigor across the industry.

• Go deep with customers: meet directly with their teams, ruthlessly uncover their challenges, and iterate fast.

• Shape our product: your frontline insights will directly drive our roadmap and prioritization.

Over time you will grow into the voice of our customers inside the company:

• Lead increasingly complex certifications, multi-person projects, and high-stakes technical initiatives

• Define how agent evals get deployed across industries

• Turn patterns you spot across partnerships into product strategy

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who can architect a complex AI workflow in the morning and translate technical tradeoffs to a CISO in the afternoon, and who genuinely thrives doing both.

You'll need to have:

• Entrepreneurial drive: A world-class "get-things-done" attitude. You thrive in ambiguity, make strong calls with incomplete information, and move fast. Founding engineer or former founder? Even better.

• AI native obsession: You know the cutting edge because you live on it. Deep fluency in current AI capabilities, tools, and techniques is a must.

• Solid product engineering: You write production grade code that real users depend on, backed by a strong computer science or engineering foundation.

• Clear communication: You can break down complex technical concepts with precision and confidence, whether you're talking to engineers or business stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Customer-obsessed: You deliver world class service to frontier labs and companies shaping the future of AI, and never let a problem stay unsolved.

• Hands-on eval experience: You've built real solutions with evals, post-training, AI red teaming, or alignment.

• Operator mindset: You have a strong engineering foundation and have done the hard work at a high-growth startup or in a customer-facing technical role like solutions engineering or technical consulting.
