Major Account Executive - San Francisco

GitLab is an AI-powered DevSecOps platform trusted by millions and many Fortune companies. The Major Account Executive will drive enterprise growth across San Francisco by leading complex B2B sales cycles, building executive relationships, orchestrating cross-functional teams, and expanding long-term adoption of GitLab's platform.

Skills

  • Proven track record in complex enterprise B2B software sales
  • Experience selling to C-level and senior technical stakeholders
  • Strong consultative and solution-selling skills
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, software development tools, or adjacent SaaS solutions
  • Pipeline generation, forecasting, and quota attainment experience
  • Collaborative work style with cross-functional teams (SE, CS, Marketing, Partners)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce) and remote-asynchronous workflows
  • Ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a portfolio of enterprise accounts in the San Francisco region, driving new business and expansion.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans, opportunity mapping, and multi-threaded engagement across stakeholders.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles from discovery through negotiation and successful implementation.
  • Coordinate Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Sales Development, Channel & Alliances, and other specialists to win deals.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and ROI-based business cases to executive and technical audiences.
  • Manage pipeline, forecast accurately, perform win/loss analyses, and contribute insights to refine GTM motion.
  • Build and maintain trusted C-level and senior stakeholder relationships across business and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with partners and channels to generate pipeline and support co-selling and adoption.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Relevant certifications (sales, product) are a plus
  • Ongoing professional development in enterprise sales or technical domains encouraged
