Business Development Representative - East

GitLab is a publicly traded DevSecOps platform used by millions and many Fortune companies to ship secure software faster. The company seeks an energetic Business Development Representative to execute outbound prospecting, generate qualified meetings and pipeline across the US and Canada, and work closely with Field, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams.

Skills

  • Strong outbound calling and email outreach skills
  • Excellent listening and written communication
  • Ability to manage high-volume outreach and prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Outreach (or similar)
  • Experience researching accounts and building targeted lists
  • Comfort using AI tools and incorporating them into daily workflows
  • Ability to work asynchronously across time zones in a remote environment
  • Fluent English communication

Responsibilities

  • Execute outbound prospecting initiatives to generate qualified meetings and pipeline in assigned territory
  • Generate new logo and growth opportunities within existing accounts
  • Conduct high-level discovery conversations to qualify opportunities and create Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs)
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly BDR-sourced SAO targets
  • Research and prioritize target accounts to develop tailored outreach strategies
  • Execute multi-touch outreach cadences (call, email, social) using Outreach or similar tools
  • Manage, track, and report prospecting activities and pipeline in Salesforce
  • Collaborate with Field, Corporate, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams
  • Attend regional marketing events to engage participants and drive SAOs
  • Document and improve BDR processes and mentor new hires

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Equivalent professional experience in sales, marketing, or related fields accepted
