About the Role

We are building a new, high-impact engineering hub in the heart of New York City and are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our founding team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction, culture, and execution standards of a rapidly growing division.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be entrusted with significant technical ownership and autonomy. We are looking for engineers who thrive on end-to-end execution, from concept to deployment, in a fast-paced environment. This role demands a high level of technical mastery, the ability to operate independently, and a relentless focus on delivering high-quality, impactful results.

What you will be doing:

• Take full ownership of critical features and services, driving the entire software development lifecycle with minimal supervision.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy highly performant, scalable, and resilient software systems.

• Contribute significantly to technical architecture discussions, making sound, data-driven decisions that balance speed, reliability, and maintainability.

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into well-defined technical solutions.

• This is an onsite-only position at our new New York engineering hub, fostering tight-knit collaboration and rapid execution.

Who you are

• A passionate engineer with a several years of experience building great products using cutting-edge technologies

• You feel comfortable working across the entire tech stack, with focus on backend development

• You’re autonomous and take pride in the code you write

• You’re a problem solver who’s not afraid to come up with creative solutions and think holistically about software architecture

• Someone who enjoys being in the office 5 days a week. A key component of Legora’s success has been in-person collaboration and we want you to be part of that.

• Experience in infrastructure and integrations are a big plus
