Skills
- Expertise in a compiled language (Go, Java, or Kotlin)
- Strong proficiency with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL (schema design, SQL tuning, monitoring)
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable APIs and integrations
- Familiarity with GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
- Experience using AWS services (Lambda, Fargate, etc.), Docker, and container orchestration
- Ability to perform production troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Comfortable working in high-growth, ambiguous environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and product features using Go, Node/TypeScript, GraphQL and SQL
- Architect large-scale systems, produce technical design documentation, and provide scope and risk estimates
- Implement and enforce software development best practices, testing, automation, and CI/CD
- Leverage AWS (Lambda, Fargate, etc.) to run jobs, batch processing and serverless components
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform triage, root cause analysis, and create mitigation plans
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Coach and mentor junior engineers through design and code reviews and hands-on guidance
- Partner with senior leadership to convert technical vision into quarterly roadmaps
Education
- BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
