Senior Director, Development – Texas

Blue Star Families is a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting military and veteran-connected families. The Senior Director, Development — Texas will lead major gifts strategy and cultivate high-capacity individuals, corporate partners, family foundations, and institutional funders across Texas to drive revenue, build regional partnerships, and advance national fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects focused on gifts of $25,000+
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift prospects across Texas
  • Design and implement a regional fundraising strategy aligned with enterprise revenue goals
  • Engage technology-sector leaders, corporate partners, and family foundations for strategic partnerships
  • Use regional events and engagement opportunities for donor cultivation and pipeline development
  • Partner with Development leadership, Chapter Support, and national teams to align campaigns and initiatives
  • Track portfolio activity, pipeline progression, and revenue forecasting using CRM systems
  • Represent Blue Star Families at regional philanthropic, corporate, and civic events
  • Travel regularly within Texas and occasionally nationally; participate in required in-person gatherings

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred but not required
