We're a Series A startup backed by Lightspeed revolutionizing hiring through AI. Founded by repeat entrepreneurs (Kumospace), we launched our AI-powered recruiting marketplace in June 2025 and are already revenue-positive with just under 100 employer partners—75%+ are AI-native companies. Thousands of engineers are on our platform, and we're running Match Days every week where pre-screened candidates receive competing offers from top employers.
Our vision: build the infrastructure where AI learns what engineers actually do and what they want and matches them to opportunities automatically. We're not just using AI at the edges—we're building toward a future where intelligent systems handle the entire recruiting workflow, and we need teammates who want to build that future with us.
We're looking for a skilled Technical Sourcer to join our team on a contract basis. You'll play a key role in identifying and engaging top-tier software and AI engineers, building the candidate pipelines that power Match Day.
As our Technical Sourcer, you'll be instrumental in:
Developing and executing creative sourcing strategies to identify high-quality software and AI engineers
Building robust candidate pipelines using Social, LinkedIn, Events, and other sourcing channels.
Crafting personalized outreach and managing engagement through our ATS (Gem)
Collaborating closely with the recruiting team to understand role requirements and ideal candidate profiles
Maintaining an organized ATS (Gem) of candidates in pipeline
Staying sharp on industry trends, technologies, and the evolving AI startup landscape
Contributing to the continuous improvement of our sourcing processes and outreach conversion rates
Providing data-driven insights on pipeline health, sourcing effectiveness, and market trends
2–5 years of experience in technical sourcing, preferably in startup, high-growth, or recruiting agency environments
Strong understanding of startup specific software engineering roles and the current AI/tech landscape
Proven track record building high-quality candidate pipelines for technical positions at venture backed startups
Excellent research skills and ability to creatively surface passive candidates
Ability to identify top prospects for a variety of client needs
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in technical sourcing will be considered
Duration: 3–6 months, with potential for extension
Location: Remote, NY Preferred
Hours: 32–40 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate startup schedules
Hourly Rate: $35 - 40/hr
Recruiting is broken, and we're rebuilding it from the ground up, on a mission to transform how engineers and startups find each other. Fonzi is building the AI recruiter that frees our team to do what no model can: make meaningful connections, make real calls, and build trust on both sides of the table.
You'll be at the frontier. Every engineer you source ends up in front of AI-native startups building some of the most interesting products being shipped right now. You’ll be exposed to a diverse range of innovative companies, from pre-seed to Series D, across NYC and SF.
The team is small and impactful. We move fast, think creatively, and genuinely care about doing recruiting better. You'll engage with the full pipeline and see exactly how a category-defining talent company grows from the inside.
If you’re passionate about discovering top technical talent, driven by results, and excited about the startup ecosystem, we want to hear from you.
Fonzi AI values diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
If an employer mentions a salary or salary range on their job, we display it as an "Employer Estimate". If a job has no salary data, Rise displays an estimate if available.
