Think Together is seeking a Fund Development Intern to assist with various donor-related tasks, including prospect research and fundraising events, while providing administrative support in a nonprofit environment.

Responsibilities: Interns will conduct prospect research, participate in fundraising campaigns, manage donor relationships, and support the Fund Development team with administrative tasks.

Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, comfort with CRM systems like Salesforce, and collaborative work ethic are required.

Qualifications: Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree, ideally with 2 years of undergraduate study completed, and possess a passion for education and nonprofit work.

Location: In-person role based at Think Together’s headquarters in Santa Ana, CA, with some local travel required.

Compensation: $22 - $22 / Hourly

Interns will be placed with a department in Think Together’s Home Office based on their academic background, professional skills, interests, and goals. Under the mentorship of designated staff members, interns will work both independently and collaboratively with their departments on projects that support Think Together’s mission and operations. Interns will gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a large nonprofit organization and will develop skills and knowledge related to their academic and professional goals. Interns will also have opportunities to attend regular staff speaker series and professional development sessions. Description of Tasks • Conduct prospect research on potential donors, grant opportunities, and philanthropic corporations.  • Participate in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events.  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Think Togethers donors and supporters.  • Field and address donor inquiries and requests.  • Maintain and update donor profiles and donor records.  • Become familiar with Salesforce, the department’s primary fundraising and CRM system.  • Provide administrative support to the Fund Development team. • Attend and support both donor and corporate volunteer events, if applicable. • Participate in Fund Development team meetings, Home Office meetings, and cross-department meetings as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Donor & Funder Engagement. 

Learning Outcomes • Experience with Salesforce CRM system, the usage of databases, and the process of logging donor data.  • Research skills and experience through the identification of prospective partners, corporations, and donors.  • Introduction to the strategies of fundraising methods, including fundraising events, donor solicitation, marketing, and corporate partnerships, among others.  • Proficiency in administrative support with the ability to manage multiple calendars, schedule department meetings, and collaborate on team events. 

 Training  • General employer orientation, which may include safety trainings. • Weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings. • Staff speaker series and professional development sessions. • How to use the Salesforce CRM platform. • How to conduct prospect research and navigate research sources (LinkedIn, Whitepages, Candid, iWave, etc.). • How to understand the key components of the donor cycle. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in progress – Candidates must be at least a rising junior or senior in college, having completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework. • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills • Desire to work collaboratively, with an openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally • Passion and enthusiasm for education, nonprofit administration, and/or community service. COMPUTER SKILLS:• Familiarity or comfort with remote/hybrid work tools such as: Outlook, Microsoft 365 Suite, Zoom/MS Teams, cloud sharing • Use of typical office equipment WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Moderate Noise (examples: typical office noise) • Stand, Walk, Sit (in general office environment) • Computer Screen visual in performance of role • Lift up to 10 pounds • Travel up to 10%

Hours/Location  • Start date: June 2026 • End date: 10-12 weeks from start date or in alignment with college or university requirements  • 15-25 hours per week
