Director, Sales

Descript is an AI-driven audio and video editing platform backed by leading investors that is scaling enterprise adoption. The company is hiring a Director of Sales to lead a US-based enterprise sales organization, build a high-performing team of Account Executives, and drive land-and-expand motion to accelerate ARR growth and broad adoption of AI-powered content workflows.

Skills

  • Proven enterprise sales leadership with quota ownership
  • Strong pipeline generation and outbound execution
  • Expertise with methodological sales processes (e.g., MEDDPICC)
  • Forecasting and deal inspection discipline
  • Experience recruiting, headhunting, and developing top SaaS sellers
  • Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, and success
  • Prior success as an Enterprise AE promoted into leadership
  • Comfort working in high-growth B2B SaaS environments

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and coach a US-based team of Enterprise Account Executives focused on landing and expanding high-value customers.
  • Set clear expectations, operating rhythms, and performance standards to meet and exceed ARR targets.
  • Own pipeline health for the segment, enforce rigorous qualification, forecasting, and deal inspection.
  • Drive outbound and pipeline-generation culture; ensure reps master top-of-funnel creation.
  • Refine and execute strategic account plans to deepen executive engagement and accelerate expansion.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align messaging, lifecycle strategies, and enterprise motion.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop scalable onboarding, training, and coaching programs for long-term rep success.
  • Provide customer-driven feedback to GTM and Product leadership to influence roadmap and narratives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Sales leadership experience prioritized over formal advanced degrees
