Regional Sales Manager - South Central

GILLIG is a leading U.S. transit bus manufacturer focused on zero-emission and low-emission mobility solutions, with manufacturing in Livermore, CA and a long-standing reputation for durability and service. The company seeks an experienced Regional Sales Manager for the South Central territory to drive bus and aftermarket parts revenue, manage long-cycle procurements and RFPs, and build executive-level relationships with transit agencies.

  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) and conduct multi-day on-site visits

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to meet annual bus and aftermarket parts revenue targets and expand market share
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with transit agency leadership, procurement officials, and boards
  • Manage full capital equipment sales lifecycle from specification development through RFP response, negotiation, award, production coordination, and order fulfillment
  • Lead bid and procurement analysis, support specification development, and position GILLIG for contract awards
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities and expand penetration in existing accounts using structured account planning and CRM discipline
  • Maintain accurate 12-month and 5-year sales forecasts in the CRM using agency capital plans and funding cycles
  • Conduct regular in-person property and agency visits, submit trip reports, and follow up with action plans to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Represent GILLIG at transit board meetings, city councils, industry conferences, and regional transportation forums
  • Support and lead vehicle demonstrations and technical presentations emphasizing product specs, lifecycle costs, and operational performance
  • Prepare pricing proposals and commercial quotations in coordination with Contracts and Finance and support order execution

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven industry experience in public transit, heavy-duty equipment, or transportation sales
  • Ongoing professional development in sales, procurement, or transit industry topics preferred
