Sales Engineer

IEM is a long-established, full-line manufacturer of custom power distribution systems serving data centers, commercial, energy, healthcare and industrial markets. The Sales Engineer will manage medium and large electrical contractor and key end-user accounts across a New England territory, preparing complete project quotations (including MV/LV switchgear and non-IEM components), driving opportunities, and ensuring successful handover to execution teams.

Skills

  • Proven sales experience with MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, and power distribution equipment
  • Strong proposal/estimating skills for large project bids including third-party components
  • Account planning, negotiation, and territory management
  • Ability to engage technical and commercial stakeholders across the buyer journey
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans with Sales Director for assigned regional accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers and influencers in contractor and end-user accounts
  • Assemble and present complete project quotations including IEM and non-IEM components
  • Identify client challenges and craft proposals that meet technical and commercial requirements
  • Drive revenue opportunities through the sales cycle and manage forecasting for capacity planning
  • Coordinate handover and provide account-specific guidance to platform execution and internal teams
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and vendor performance for ongoing commercial engagements
  • Maintain deep product and client knowledge to articulate value and risk

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
