Group Director, Total Rewards & People Operations

DEPT® is a Growth Invention company combining technology and marketing to help ambitious brands grow. The Group Director, Total Rewards & People Operations will lead compensation, benefits, payroll and people operations for the Americas region, shaping reward strategy, ensuring compliance, managing vendors and advising senior leaders to attract, retain and engage talent.

Skills

  • Deep expertise in compensation design, benchmarking, job architecture and executive compensation.
  • Experience managing payroll operations and related compliance (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA).
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and HR systems (ADP Workforce Now and/or BambooHR).
  • Strong strategic, analytical and financial modeling skills to support reward decision-making.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and communicate complex programs clearly.
  • Experience leading and developing People Ops, payroll and Total Rewards teams.
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Total Rewards function covering compensation, benefits, employee health, and retirement programs across the Americas.
  • Design and execute compensation programs including job architecture, job pricing, benchmarking, and annual pay cycles.
  • Oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely processing and regulatory compliance.
  • Direct benefits design, implementation and administration to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Govern 401(k) programs including administration, compliance testing, audits, and committee participation.
  • Provide strategic reporting and insights to executive leadership and the compensation committee.
  • Monitor market, regulatory and economic trends to evolve Total Rewards programs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts and cost management for benefits, payroll and rewards providers.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to communicate Total Rewards offerings and drive engagement.
  • Ensure HRIS/data integrity and alignment between People Operations and Total Rewards processes.
  • Manage People Operations activities including onboarding, offboarding, leave/visa administration and data accuracy.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Relevant HR certifications (e.g., CCP, SHRM-SCP) advantageous.
  • Continuous professional development in compensation, benefits and payroll best practices recommended.
