Manager, People Relations

Figma is a fast-growing design collaboration platform seeking a Manager, People Relations to lead a distributed global ER team of four. This role will partner with senior leadership, Employment Legal, People Partners, and cross-functional teams to own employee relations strategy, lead high-risk investigations, and build scalable, consistent ER practices that balance legal risk and employee experience.

Skills

  • Progressive employee relations and people management experience in a global context
  • Proven ability to lead complex investigations with sound judgment
  • Deep knowledge of US employment law and working knowledge of CA and NY regulations
  • Strong executive communication, written skills, and stakeholder influence
  • Data-informed approach to ER reporting and trend analysis
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Benefits, and People teams

Responsibilities

  • Design and own global employee relations strategy aligned to company values and growth plans
  • Manage, coach, and develop a distributed team of four ER professionals
  • Lead or co-lead complex, high-risk employee investigations in partnership with Employment Legal
  • Advise on accommodations, leave, and performance matters with cross-functional partners
  • Partner with People Partners and senior leaders to influence decisions on employee risk and performance management
  • Build manager capability for handling performance, conflict, and other employee issues
  • Maintain ER data hygiene, reporting, and trend analysis to inform leadership and policy changes
  • Drive continuous improvement of ER processes to increase scalability and consistency

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM, PHR) preferred but not required
