OEM Sales Director

Tailscale is a distributed, venture-backed company building secure connectivity software used by individuals and organizations worldwide. The OEM Sales Director will found and scale an OEM/embedded partnerships motion—identifying, structuring, and closing integrations and licensing deals with platforms, infrastructure providers, and technology vendors to drive new revenue streams.

Skills

  • Enterprise sales and strategic partnerships experience with OEM or embedded deals.
  • Strong negotiation skills for licensing, revenue share, and complex multi-stakeholder agreements.
  • Commercial instincts and quota-carrying sales experience.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, legal, and marketing teams.
  • Executive relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building repeatable GTM playbooks and partner programs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and close OEM, embedded, and platform partnerships with software platforms, infrastructure providers, and technology vendors.
  • Structure commercial agreements including licensing, revenue share, pricing models, and go-to-market frameworks.
  • Own end-to-end deal execution from discovery through contract negotiation, launch, and post-launch adoption.
  • Align with product and engineering on integration requirements and timelines; coordinate legal and commercial terms.
  • Develop and execute a repeatable OEM go-to-market strategy and build a pipeline of strategic lighthouse customers.
  • Collaborate with marketing on joint solutions and launches to drive partner-sourced brand awareness and demand.
  • Enable internal teams and partners on onboarding, enablement, and best practices to grow partner-driven revenue.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant technical or business training preferred (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business).
