Business Development Representative, FinServ

GitLab is a global DevSecOps platform used by millions and many Fortune 100 companies. The company seeks an energetic Business Development Representative to own outbound prospecting for the Financial Services segment, generating qualified meetings and pipeline through multi-touch outreach and close collaboration with field, marketing, sales, and customer success teams.

Skills

  • Proven outbound prospecting and lead generation experience
  • Familiarity with financial services buyer personas (CISOs, CTOs, DevOps leads)
  • Strong phone, written, and listening communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume outreach and follow-through
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Sales Navigator, Outreach (or similar sequencing tools)
  • English fluency and remote collaboration skills
  • Comfort using AI tools as part of daily workflows

Responsibilities

  • Execute outbound prospecting cadences to generate qualified meetings and Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs).
  • Identify and prioritize target accounts and buyer personas within Financial Services.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to qualify needs and create sales-ready opportunities.
  • Manage prospecting activities and pipeline in Salesforce with accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with Field, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success on account lists, campaigns, and call strategies.
  • Attend regional marketing events to engage participants and drive pipeline.
  • Document and improve BDR processes in the GitLab handbook and mentor new BDR hires.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
  • Open to candidates with varied educational backgrounds and relevant sales experience
